This makes no sense. It was musicians and producers suing over music pirated from sites developed by some of the same people now pushing AI. In ither words, the pirates are still pillaging, just in different boats. No inconsistency here.

“Collection of Handwritten Letters from Children in Detention Center” sounds like an exhibit in the Holocaust Museum.
1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.
Hundreds of kids are still detained.

One histrom novel that comes to mind which explicitly includes a subplot about abolition and wealth as a result of the trade is WHEN THE MARQUESS WAS MINE by Caroline Linden. For novels directly dealing with the human impact of Britain's actions in India and Australia, read Meredith Duran.
It's very exciting to find an author who makes explicit reference to the abolition of both slavery and the opium trade (which had devastating effects on both China and India) even in passing bc they tend to develop it further in later books, which is a level of realism I want included in fantasy

Only a very specific baking audience is going to care about this but apparently the company that makes Silpat has abruptly shut down. I’m personally buying up ones I can find from secondary retailers cause these things are irreplaceable. I’m bummed.
