We went on a brief but necessary vacation at the end of last week - the one really "take time off and go away" vacation we take each year, which involves hundreds of miles of driving and camping – and as wonderful as it was, I am feeling so overwhelmed by all the small tasks in front of me now.

Before I was a church lady, I was a (much less well paid than this guy) SEO optimization specialist. I do think knowing that work - through many Google algo shifts - informs my relationship to the AI monster today, even as I approach it from a very different professional position.

Before I was a church lady, I was a (much less well paid than this guy) SEO optimization specialist. I do think knowing that work - through many Google algo shifts - informs my relationship to the AI monster today, even as I approach it from a very different professional position.
I produced a stack of blank index cards and my six-section pen case in therapy today. It's session 3. My therapist is getting the full creature here.

This is not to make fun of this person, but like, having a business website means you get some fascinating emails that aren't totally spam. Today, for me, that looked like someone who makes "Bible house music."

I think I really need to take today to not do work (a thing I have not been good at recently because it's such a busy season) because we had a very late date night last night and I drove a ton for a client meetup and then tomorrow I can pick up the pieces again when I am not ready to drop.

It has taken at most 10 classes for the pilates instructor I'm taking most of my classes with to determine that I am just a factoid dispenser. Just a little peak behind the curtain for those of you who don't contend with me in real life.

How much of your time feels like its spend trying to get someone (maybe your kids, your spouse, your boss) to pay attention? God was also calling Moses to pay attention – as a reminder that God was there with him in the midst of everything.

I think my parish has used 85% of the confirmation programs appropriate for the Episcopal Church (and probably some other mainstream Prots) in the last 35 years and my desk right now is a testament to that.

I write down my air travel routes on all my trips in the tracker notebook that has lists and systems for all kinds of things and geez, due to rerouting and weather and maintenance, and geez, I visited 5 different airports this Tuesday-Thursday during a roundtrip from Boston to Dayton, Ohio.

I wanted to chalk up the almost 10k steps on my watch today to my favorite hobby - meaningless gesturing – during my symposium talk, but I'm in bed and my calves ache so maybe I really did walk around the retreat center that much!

I live at the airport now. (I don't but I will spend about 11 hours in the Boston one today when everything is said and done after every flight to Chicago was canceled). At least WW got written!

In absolutely restless preparing to travel mode. I think I need to cook and pack and then actually work tasks can get organized into evening/early tomorrow and worked as I'm in transit/at airport/etc.

I think my presentation for a symposium I'm headed to on Tuesday is wrapped up, so that's great. I give a lot of presentations that feel low stakes. Being one of three featured speakers for an event NOT put on by my friends or close colleagues and being flown in feels pretty high stakes.

My first semester in college, oh, 18 years ago, I took a course on reading and writing short poems – in which we also only wrote short response papers (by which I mean maybe two paragraphs at most). Calling on those ruthless revision skills today.

As the children's program head at a small church, I don't get to preach often, but I greatly enjoy it. That being said, writing sermons is kind of like trying to condense a red string conspiracy wall into an elevator pitch.

How are folks who give a lot of presentations (often similar but of different length or emphasis) organizing what's already in your repertoire? I'm giving at least 4 presentations in the next 3 months in 3 pretty different contexts and the moving parts are starting to add up.
