I don't think that's a dilemma here. The NYT can't platform everyone. Ezra Klein has to choose who to interview and there was just no reason to interview Rufo. There's nothing to learn from talking to him.

In the Fox News universe, all children's show hosts constantly talk about how ICE raids are good and genocide is sometimes justified. Their commercial breaks are crypto scams marketed to kids.

This is a big part of why I don't think campaigns matter very much. People like to say that the Harris campaign messed up in various ways. I'm sure they did, but did you pay attention to the Trump campaign? It was nuts and he still won.

Yeah, that was crazy. Trump glitched out on stage for 45 minutes at a campaign event, talked about Jack Nicklaus' penis at another event, and generally couldn't stay on topic. His campaign pretended that he was doing this stuff on purpose as a strategy and then he still won anyway!
