I love when the recorded version of a song is perfect, and then the live version is also perfect, but the two versions are ultimately different from each other. Best examples I can think of are Queen’s “Somebody to Love” and Van Morrison’s “Cyprus Avenue.”

For as long as I've been an Evertonian, Seamus has been with the club. When I finally made it to Liverpool last year for a match at Goodison, I went to the team store, and (even though I have more than enough kits already) bought a Seamus #23. It would have been wrong to leave the city without one.

For as long as I've been an Evertonian, Seamus has been with the club. When I finally made it to Liverpool last year for a match at Goodison, I went to the team store, and (even though I have more than enough kits already) bought a Seamus #23. It would have been wrong to leave the city without one.
That was very, very Everton. I don’t even know if I mean that as a criticism or a compliment, which is the most Everton thing about it.

Watching this game live as an 8-year-old, running to my driveway to shoot hoops during the commercial breaks, then running back after a few minutes to keep watching, is a core memory.
