The "both sides are the same!" bullshit accounts have been LOUD this year, as they always are during election years, when they pop their disingenuous little heads out of the ground to sow propaganda and disinformation. Sad to see ppl I follow/mutuals/etc falling for it again.

Repost of more random art n junk for Zelda's 40th.

Mostly splatposts, and a random attempt at lineless art with "Untitled Groose Game"

I wish I had drawn more but I didn't, so. Here ya go.
My in-game splatpost pixel drawing for Splatoon 2's Final Fest called Splatocalypse: Chaos vs Order, for Team Chaos. Drawing is heavily based on Zelda: Majora's Mask and features the members of in-game idol group Off the Hook--inkling Pearl and octoling Marina--as characters from MM. Pearl on the left is posed like the Skull Kid in the official MM artwork, wearing the titular Majora's Mask alongside her Splatocalypse outfit, staring at her contorted hand in front of her face as the mask slowly takes control. Marina on the right is the Fierce Deity as they appear in the official MM artwork, arms raised above her head and the Fierce Deity's sword in her hands readied for a strike. In the middle between the two is the DecaTower from Inkopolis Square, taking the place of MM's Clock Tower, as a silhouette of a masked Pearl prances atop it like the impish Skull Kid would. An ominous moon looms behind her and the tower (minus the horrifying angry horrifying face). Drawing from July 2019 My in-game splatpost pixel drawing for Splatoon 2's Chicken vs Egg rematch splatfest. It reference The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. On the left is Marin, sitting beside a palm tree, playing a lyre. She looks up excitedly at the sky. Silhouettes of seagulls fly in the background. On the right is Link, standing heroic and determined with sword and shield, as he turns slightly over his right shoulder to watch the scene behind him and in the sky above. In the middle, in the distance, is Mount Tamaranch, at the top of which sits the Wind Fish's spotted egg. The giant winged whale-like Wind Fish soars in the sky from beyond the mountain, above Marin and Link. Drawing from August 2020 My first attempt at lineless art, circa Sept 2019, a parody of "Untitled Goose Game" but with the character Groose from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword as a terrible goose. So...a white goose, dressed like Groose. Henceforth referred to as Goose Groose. There are three little pictures. The first, in the upper left, is Goose Groose posed as Groose does in his official Skyward Sword artwork. He has a wide stance, one hand on his hip and the other running through his tall red pointy pompadour hair. He looks very full of himself. The second drawing, in the upper right, is Goose Groose honking with a red loftwing bird. Whether their honking is a sign of competing, communicating, or solidarity is unclear. The third drawing is Groose Goose stealing Zelda's sailcloth in his beak, looking rather pleased with himself as he runs away from an angry Zelda and Link. He is a terrible goose. Groose is the best character in Skyward Sword.

Zelda art repost bc OoT remake news today. I fucking love OoT.

Perhaps this is too nuanced a take for bsky, but I'm conflicted on the remake--some things I liked, other things I'm not entirely jazzed about. That being said I don't even have a Switch2 so my opinion is mostly irrelevant anyway.

A needed break from my usual "everything is bad" mode: yesterday was two years since TotK dropped. So here are the splatposts I made for the special #Splatoon3 #Zelda splatfest to celebrate its release.

A TRIFORCE OF ART
Black-and-white pixel drawing for Team Power, made in Splatoon 3 for the special Zelda splatfest in May 2023 to celebrate the release of Tears of the Kingdom. It shows the TotK version of Ganondorf in the foreground, fist raised in front of him as he yells out in anger. He is clothed in a Gerudo robe and several pieces of armor/jewelry. Got a little peak of them abs and a tiddy, too, which everyone was thirsting for when they finally revealed "hydrated" TotK Ganondorf. Yeah, I know what the people want. Behind him in the background is the boar-beast Ganon, based on his Ocarina of Time appearance because I think that's the coolest version. Ganon roars upward into the sky, revealing sharp teeth, his head framed by his large demonic horns. Floating above his head is the Triforce, the holy relic of Hyrule consisting of three triangles that make up a larger triangle. Here, the top triangle, the Triforce of Power, is illuminated and displays the Power symbol. Black-and-white pixel drawing for Team Wisdom, made in Splatoon 3 for the special Zelda splatfest in May 2023 to celebrate the release of Tears of the Kingdom. It shows the TotK version of Princess Zelda in the foreground, shooting an arrow with the Bow of Light. She has a fiercely determined look of solemn duty and purpose on her face, and her archery pose is achieved via extreme foreshortening: the bow appears closer to the viewer as Zelda targets her off-screen enemy from farther back. Behind her is Shiek, her alter-ego from Ocarina of Time. Sheik is just super cool, I mean, it's SHEIK! With arms, fingers, and head wrapped in bandages for disguise and masking their face, their identity is hidden until it was finally revealed in an epic scene in the final stretch of OoT: Shiek poses with their left arm across their chest and their right arm straight up in front of them, a single eye watching intently between their thumb and forefinger. And then the Triforce of Wisdom appears on their right hand! A flash of light AND BAM THERE'S ZELDA! RAW AS FUCK As such, Sheik is making that exact pose. Floating in front of Sheik's right hand is the Triforce, the holy relic of Hyrule consisting of three triangles that make up a larger triangle. Here, the left triangle, the Triforce of Wisdom, is illuminated and displays the Wisdom symbol. Black-and-white pixel drawing for Team Courage, made in Splatoon 3 for the special Zelda splatfest in May 2023 to celebrate the release of Tears of the Kingdom. It shows the TotK version of Link in the foreground, his right arm raised up (via extreme foreshortening) as he holds aloft a rusted and decaying Master Sword. He holds an old wooden shield in his left arm. His face is also fiercely determined in silent duty, his eyes looking behind him and toward the Master Sword. He wears the TotK Champion Tunic and the Hylian hood (hood down, so it appears more like a cape). Behind him in the background are a few references to past Links. First is Dark Link, his doppelganger arguably most infamous in Ocarina of Time. He appears almost entirely in shadowy black, except for his sleeves, hair, and stark white pupil-less eyes. He is turned away from us, showing a Hylian Shield across his back, as he glances over his shoulder and raises his right arm to slowly unsheath his sword. Behind Dark Link is the Hero's Shade from Twlight Princess, the armored skeletal spirit of Ocarina of Time's Link. As such, a little ball fairy, Navi, floats by his head. I like Navi, she was there with Link through time, how dare anyone say bad things about her! Floating near the top of the canvas behind the tip of TotK Link's decaying Master Sword is the Triforce, the holy relic of Hyrule consisting of three triangles that make up a larger triangle. Here, the right triangle, the Triforce of Courage, is illuminated and displays the Courage symbol.

Finally visited my sister and niece + nephew down south for 3 days this week. First time since they moved last year. I have several gripes.
