I understand where you're coming from - here's a cut and paste which might give clarification:

2025 generation round-up!

Wind power was the main producer with 29.7% of the year's generation (but I thought they didn't work?) 🥰

37.3% of the grid was powered from renewables vs 26.8% fossil fuels. 💪

.... and the lights didn't go out 😜

Meanwhile nuclear came in at 11.8%

For those interested in battery tech, this is what 64kWh of LiFePo4 (LFP) cells looks like. ~440kg! All together rated for just over 30kw continuous charge/discharge (not that my inverter can do that 😀).

Won’t affect me 😁

Tomorrow is looking very promising as temperatures remain mild and a widespread band of wind engulfing the UK

Let's see how our European neighbours are getting on tomorrow... 👀👀

Germany seeing the highest prices (higher than us) of $0.99 Morning Peak and $1.47 evening peak (if agile pricing formula is applied.
January 19, 2025 at 1:15 PM
The spot price did go that high momentarily. But the article does not seem to mention the countless times that the spot price goes negative. Like today at 2am, a price of £-1,144.69/Mwh.
January 19, 2025 at 11:19 AM
Looking at the week ahead, I'm afraid that it all looks very calm and quiet (read: expensive)... that is until Friday, when we are going to get absolutely hammered by a storm (see video), with another on its tail coming Monday.
