Horse Magnifier: The Full Horse
shoutouts @sketbordcat.bsky.social
A screenshot of my Tumblr review for Horse Magnifier: The Full Horse. The review says the following: Rating: 7/10 Played on: Steam Deck Disclaimer off the bat. @sketbordcat is a friend of mine and the developer of this game. I'm trying to stay unbiased, but I can't help but feel insanely proud of him for releasing a full fledged game and for it to be as successful as it has been. So shoutouts to him from my tiny blog that no one sees! I'm no Markiplier, Vinesauce, or Jerma, but the more people I can reach about this game the better. Anyway, horses. Horse Magnifier is a game where you magnify horses. Do the horses enjoy it? Do they even have the souls to enjoy it? All your questions and more may or may not be answered in this delightfully simple puzzle game. I truly haven't seen a game like this before, the closest thing I can think to compare it to is messing around with the Photo Channel on the Wii. You play with magnifiers, mirrors, stretchers, and warpers to fit the horses to their lovely new forms. All of which is being backed by an ethereal soundtrack, well polished visuals and sound effects, and a surprisingly satisfying meter at the end of each level to tell you how many pixels off you were. There are plenty of surprises and secrets I won't spoil here, but it genuinely made me laugh several times, which is an awesome feeling. This game is great for what it sets out to do, and is at a perfectly reasonable price to boot. And, if you couldn't get enough of the horse magnification, or perhaps wanted to magnify something else, there's Steam Workshop support for any image you could dream of. I suppose I'll end this with the same thing everyone else has said - these horses changed my life for the better. And watch out for the jumpscares. oops dropped my monster collecting RPGs similar to pokemon at a price point similar to the official port of frlg on switch that doesn’t have anything new added or online functionality and is just kanto for the 18th time haha my bad lemme pick those up
Beastieball’s Steam listing for $24.99 as well as its soundtrack for $11.99 and the free demo! The Steam listing for Cassette Beasts, which is currently on sale for only $7.99, down from $19.99. I believe this one is on most consoles as well! The Ooblets Steam page, priced at $29.99. Haven’t played this one myself but my gf has and she really liked it! The Monster Hunter Stories series on Steam. The first game is on sale for $9.89, the second is $14.79, and the third one is coming out next month.

UNBEATABLE
A screenshot of my Tumblr review of UNBEATABLE. The review says the following: Rating: 10/10 Played on: Steam Deck I started off this year with a HIGH bar for other games to try and cross. UNBEATABLE is one of my new favorite games of all time. Since learning about it and playing the demo a few months ago, I knew it was going to be good, but this game exceeded all expectations. "Music is illegal and you do crimes" may be the most effective tagline for a video game ever. I was sold immediately on premise alone, but the Trigger-style anime cutscenes, fantastically bold character designs, a banger punk rock soundtrack, and fun, dynamic rhythm gameplay were all added layers of sellability for me. All of these aspects were present throughout my playthrough, alongside an emotional story, a sense of humor perfectly aligned with my own, and powerfully shocking twists, story and gameplay-wise. You basically get two games in one here. First, there's beefy 10-15 hour story mode with charming and lovable characters, a complex and emotional story, cute little minigames and different gameplay styles, and a BOP of a soundtrack, with plenty of variety. Then, when you're ready to sink your teeth into the rhythm game itself, there's a whole arcade mode with a massive amount of content. Charts for 5-6 difficulties on each song, a whole host of remixes and guest tracks, and over a hundred achievements and tasks for exploring every aspect of the game. I've barely scratched the surface of this mode, and will be continuing to play it for a while yet, I'm sure, as the rhythm gameplay is addicting and incredibly satisfying to get good at. The game isn't perfect, by any means, with the story mode especially being a bit buggy. Softlocks are fairly common, and every so often a spike of lag with disrupt your rhythm, ruining a combo. I even had a few instances where a song would start but the camera was not in the correct place so I couldn't see my character or the notes, and just failed and had to restart. If I'm being honest though, it didn't really detract from my overall experience. If anything, it feels fitting? I mean, the game is punk rock, has you punching cops and doing crimes, has themes of identity struggles and resistance. None of that is supposed to be smooth sailing, right? So honestly, it feels like the game not being perfectly smooth and polished is right on theme. I encourage anyone to give this game a shot. You don't have to be good at rhythm games to enjoy the story, there are many difficulty options to tailor your experience, and you get to punch cops. What more can you ask for?

I'm tired of having to coddle harry potter fans

if you have spent money on harry potter in the last five years, your money has contributed to the deaths of real trans people & the defense of their killers

that is a fact, don't celebrate a harry potter video game during pride month for fuck's sake

Review coming… eventually, but I am done with Hundred Line. After 50+ hours of searching for anything good in this game, I only grew to hate it more and more. The cult of takumi route finally has broken me, I will not be supporting Kodaka’s future endeavors and regret buying and playing this game.

Challenge: Write anything about Everhood without mentioning Undertale (IMPOSSIBLE)

Please play Everhood whether you like Undertale or not. It’s very different, going into every indie rpg expecting Undertale is not a great mindset

love you Nintendo Life but not a fan of such a derivative review
