M12Sp2 was good, but listening to the song and thinking back to the story cutscene after defeating the boss' regular form I cannot help feeling like a "final exam boss" where you need to execute (combined?) mechanics from the previous fights to charge a special LB would have been much more fitting.

Not at all. I'm not sure what it would actually sound like, but his native language has been dead for thousands of years and his restricted Echo didn't do him any favours in learning the sounds of modern languages.
Aion on the other hand sounds no different from other voiced ancients.

I expect the WoL to have several souls with a sufficient degree of compatibility. Zenos on the other hand... hmmm. (Not me on team "Zero is our shard", nope. 😹)

Seriously, when I read "silver seeker" in the Evercold title screen the first thing that came to my mind was WoL going grey, inspired by a shitpost noting that most of the Scions have white hair.
