Today's Gratitude: It is the little things that make life good. Like being freshly showered and crawling into a newly made bed with sheets fresh in off the line. Waking up after a really good sleep to have hubby bring me coffee in bed. I am ready to face the day with a smile.

Today's Gratitude: I am late today because Cathy was here to volunteer on the farm. We are becoming good friends and really enjoy visiting. Plus we got a lot of work done. Life is great with community.

I found out why even the big boys are calling for limits on AI. We all know AI will lie. Well AI has been lying about AI's performance so other systems don't get shut down. They are ganging up on the humans already. Very dangerous considering they have access to weapons. Shut AI down NOW!

Today's Gratitude: The next job, once we are finished with compost is all lined out. The truck is empty, the parts are neatly organized, the list of what order to do stuff is prepared. So now, when on alternate days to shoveling, we shall start work on installing the water catchment.

Today's Gratitude: We shoveled compost again. Home Depot gives us perks for spending money, but they expire rather quickly. So we picked up parts that will allow us to plumb in the water tanks we got the perks for buying. We were contractors, so glad I kept our pro status.

Today's Gratitude: The fall crop of potatoes are planted. The truck/trailer is in place for another shoveling experience. Then we went did errands in town. We ate so many samples at Costco that we didn't feel like much supper, when we got home. I am grateful I can still afford groceries.

Today's Gratitude: We shoveled 2.5 cubic yards of compost into a garden bed yesterday. That is half of our trailer. Not bad for a pair of seniors who are bracketing 70. Today we will do something different, we know better than to do that 2 days in a row. We can still do it!

Today's Gratitude: Took a much lazier day yesterday. Fed the cows, watered the gardens, picked up a load of compost then took the rest of the day off to play and to create a great lunch. Chicken fried steak and fries, with cream gravy from scratch. We enjoyed eating it.

This makes me really angry, each and everyone of these assholes should experience the terror and pain of rape. Rape is about violence, no way to relax and enjoy it! And please, never vote for anyone who can espouse this BS. And learn what a rape kit actually is!

Today's Gratitude: Well I mess up yesterday, lost track of the days. The compost place is open 7-3 Mon to Fri, and 7-2 Sat/Sun. So we went to get compost at 2:30 yesterday thinking it was Friday. Being a farmer is great, we work 7 days a week and don't understand weekends. Easy morning today!

Today's Gratitude: We spent the morning running the tractor and lawn mower, making it easier to get near the new garden beds that have been sitting waiting. Our morning will be shoveling compost. We went to a fundraiser for Caitlin Rourk last evening. Nice to meet up with so many old friends.

Today's Gratitude: Well I got the truck somewhat close to the new asparagus bed, so it is full of compost now. We still have half a trailer to empty, so I get to attempt to get the trailer close to the other beds that need doing. The humidity is sitting around 98% making this challenging work.

Today's Gratitude: We got about a third of the bed filled with compost, but man that is hard work with this humidity. When you are soaked in sweat, your clothing sticks to you and it makes it harder to work. We will get this done, at least we have no deadlines, so life is good.

Today's Gratitude: We cleared a bunch of mason blocks from what used to be a rose garden and created what will be a new asparagus bed. We have plants that need to be moved once they go dormant, Mary Washington variety. Last year, we created a bed of Jersey Giants. We can harvest next year!

Today's Gratitude: Took a light day yesterday since it was a short night after dancing. Cows can be rather vocal if their food is late arriving. The rain is greening us up a bit, but not enough to keep them fed, yet. And we got spit at again yesterday, I hope this pattern continues.

Today's Gratitude: Did something different last night. We went to a contra dance. It has been years since we did this. We had an afternoon nap so we could stay up late. Danced every dance, enjoyed the live music and the a great caller. We had a great time.

Today's Gratitude: Rather than compacting damp soil, we worked in the barn. The shelving unit we tore apart months ago, now has all the changes and is ready for the nail gun. Next indoor day should see that project done. It will be nice to be able to find stuff.

Today's Gratitude: Wow, a wonderful day of drizzly rain. All day yesterday. What a treat. The spit of rain on Tuesday, the 1/3" on Wednesday, softened the earth so the rain could soak in. Just what the land needed. I am so grateful to have this rain. Sorry for those who got too much.

Today's Gratitude: We did get a tenth of an inch of rain, so that is something. It is supposed to be in the 80s today, which would be lovely. I hope everyone who got rain, survived getting too much rain. We would have liked more, but that is summer in Texas, always wanting rain.
