This is called “strategic defeat.” You have ended up in a worse position than before you began, with your adversary, while battered, emerging in a stronger position than before.
New: The White House is signaling that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is not a must-have to end the Iran War, potentially setting the stage for Iran to continue to flex its strategic position over one of the world's busiest oil shipping channels for the foreseeable future
White House: Reopening Strait of Hormuz Not Vital to Ending Iran War
Karoline Leavitt said reopening the Strait of Hormuz was not a "core objective" of winning the Iran War for President Trump.

i cannot stop thinking about this man, who survived the Rohingya genocide but couldn’t survive border patrol. “He died trying to get home” is a gut punch
I am devastated to hear of the passing of Nurul Amin Shah Alam. He was a refugee of the Rohingya genocide living in Buffalo, New York. Border Patrol agents wrongfully detained him and dumped him on the street in brutal winter conditions. Blind and walking with a cane, he died trying to get home.

I think the lesson in all this is that authoritarian movements succeed because they convince people they're inevitable. The reality is authoritarianism is a hollow ideology that attracts mediocrities and doesn't fully take root in the face of stiff resistance. Fight back is the only viable strategy

Bovino is not enough.

Alex Pretti's killers must be named.

MN must be allowed to investigate them and Renee Good's murder.

Stephen Miller must resign.

Kristi Noem must be impeached, removed, and disqualified "to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States".

ICE & CBP out. Abolish ICE & CBP. Investigate and prosecute their crimes.
Trump tried to break the Twin Cities but we stood strong, and now *they* are backing down. Makes me feel proud to live here.

Scalise lies: "The want to defund ICE. They defunded police. The police chief of Mpls said yesterday multiple times how stretched thin his department is. They don't have enough people because Mpls defunded the police." (Police were not defunded and MPD is stretched thin bc of unrest caused by ICE)

I am doing my best to respond to this without a string of expletives. But let's be very clear. What just happened in Minnesota was cold blooded murder of a civilian by out of control federal agents, aided and abetted by the entire Trump administration and their fascist enablers.
