While Burnham's announcement that disabled people's bus passes in England will be valid 24 hours a day from April next year is to be welcomed, it would have been nice for the UK media to acknowledge that 60+ and disabled bus passes in Scotland have been valid 24 hours a day for years now.

For those of us who see Palestinians as human beings, this was Starmer's defining moment.

It is not sustainable to behave in this way while leading the nominally progressive party in a two party system. Starmer's unpopularity is not one of life's great mysteries.
