It is unfortunate for Britain that the people who should know how to run the Government are cutting hair, driving cabs, and posting on Bluesky.

Reform in Wales having quite a bad day. Announced in the last 5 mins:
• Leader Dan Thomas steps down due to "personal reasons" (he was arrested).
• Reform MS Sarah Cooper-Lesadd defects to Plaid, saying Reform are "far more interested in division, opposition and headlines than finding solutions"

Well isn't that surprise it turns out that changes to IHT didn't lead to the sky falling in.

But this is the good website.

Let's blame him away as we know only Labour have agency.
I would note, for those looking to blame Burnham for not passing legislation to block this donation, that the Representation of the People Bill has not yet passed.

Even if he'd accepted the amendments limiting donations this would have pre-empted the Bill coming into force

So he'd lose in a landslide?
"'Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Party could be Barry Goldwater to the Republican Party,' Sirota told me earlier this year."
It is truly bizarre to think that would be a good thing.
Bernie Sanders Lets Loose on the Democratic Party, the Midterms and 2028
The 84-year-old progressive champion built a movement. Could it survive without him?

If only we could harness Bluesky's self righteousness in the fight against fascism.

You ought to be careful you don't fall off that high horse of yours you might do yourself an injury.
"On one level, Starmer is perfectly entitled to rain on Andy Burnham’s parade – Andy Burnham did, after all, spend almost a year all but openly campaigning to replace Starmer as prime minister, causing endless headaches for Starmer’s operation as he did."
Keir Starmer’s resignation shows him for what he really is
The former PM promised he’d stay around, but he didn’t. Instead, he spoiled Burnham’s first day in Westminster, and has left him facing a tricky by-election

I don't recall the same amount of outrage when Josh Simons resigned as an MP.

If we should listen to anyone about the state of the high street it's the much disliked owner of Sports Direct and former owner of Newcastle United.

Why doesn't Andy Burnham talk about climate change?
New Labour attack ad on Reform's Richard Tice for saying we should enjoy climate change.

I think this is the first time Labour has ever published an ad attacking another party for opposing climate action

The stupid is strong with this one.
"America's so dangerous there's so many shootings the-"

Begging your pardon, but the UK's knife violence issue IS the equivalent to the USA's gun violence issue, just with a different weapon, and I'm tired of pretending it's not.

Not less dangerous. Not better.

Just a different tool of suffering.

I don't think your field of expertise includes international relations.
Ed Davey, been hawkish on Russia since at least 2014 and banging the drum for greater arms exports to Ukraine to drag out an unwinnable war that is immiserating both Russians and Ukrainians, and four days ago was advocating he UK develop its own nukes in breach of the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Because they're historically right-wing.
Has anyone read anything good on why the east coast is such fertile ground for the extreme right? (Lincolnshire, East Anglia, the Essex and Kent coasts)

Demographics aren't wildly different to other areas where it's much less pronounced.

It would be nice if just one academic who signed that open letter in support admitted that they were wrong to do so.
Somehow, Miller has got worse since this - and is now raving about Pax Judaica and Judeophilia

Just in case you thought he was hiding it at all now.

And yet we have him protected by the Equalities Act and supposedly left organs celebrating him.

We're going to blame the Israelis for everything we don't like aren't we?
Really doesn’t bode well that a bunch of people on here and Twitter are looking at the latest Spanish-Moroccan border flare up and going “Israel must be secretly orchestrating this”

A big problem with the stakeholder society, a stakeholder will always complain when something doesn't benefit them or their group.
Buses, famously for the richer classes and upper orders.

A cartoon posted by an X user has gone viral on social media. It seems Europeans are slowly starting to realise the truth. It’s only the truth isn’t it, I mean these are some of countries holding up 🇮🇱 financially and weaponising them .

Labour GAIN from Green!

Huge congratulations to @camdenlabour.bsky.social's Nanouche Umeadi for winning the Regents Park by-election.

Great to see her back on Camden Council, after defeating the relentless negativity and posturing of Camden Green party.

Failed candidate. Failed academic. Failed commentator. Failed intellectual. A massive ego wrapped around a shrivelled and scared intellect, poisoned by bile and subconcious awareness of his own inadequacy.
