I think that I need a bit more practice doing the one strand braid, but it's not too bad for a first try. Also, they smell delicious 😋

I'm pretty impressed that the Club Rex guy figured out that the "swampa" dinosaur that my kids keep talking about was a velociraptor.

Just a fantastic presentation overall. Gotta love the library 💛

What a perfect weekend for camping.
A beach made from great fossil-filled rock slabs, and some sand patches stretches into the distance. Giant deciduous trees grow on the edge of the beach. Sometimes it's difficult to tell who's more excited: my kitty who gets a bit of tuna as a treat, or my kid who gets to serve the tuna to the kitty. They will race each other to the kitchen 😂

Why are children's toys always shaped like caltrops? 😭

I heard almost a full rainbow on my walk this morning: Northern Cardinal, American Robin, American Goldfinch, Blue Jay, Common Grackle. Too bad there's no green birds here.

There was no way that I was going to try to draw the Pikmin with frosting, but I think this was a pretty successful compromise.

Luckily I already had the grass tip for the frosting 🙂

Does anyone else /almost/ run out of bread, and then kind of panic and over-do things? 😂

I'm starting to get used to my new Dutch oven. It makes much better bread than my turkey roaster. 😋

This winter has done some very pretty things to my holly.
A dozen icicles pour down from an ice-crusted branch of a holly shrub. Frost edges around the leaves of a holly shrub. The frost crisply defines the edge of each pointed leaf.
