Yes the book is titled Blockchain Radicals :)

I've recently ended the Blockchain socialist podcast for a rebrand coming soon but still involved in the crypto space

Yes. It's ok, the weird part is that it's not from leftists but from a conservative perspective begrudgingly agreeing with and trying to convince leftists to get on board. This is a much better and honest book for them and we've had way more success with @tbsocialist.bsky.social book:

What do you think the left is still getting wrong about engaging with frontier tech? Curious where people land.

(And yes I will be changing my handle soon)
This is the end of The Blockchain Socialist - The Blockchain Socialist
After more than six years, I’m retiring The Blockchain Socialist. This isn’t the end but what I believe to be a new beginning that better fits the current moment. I started The Blockchain Socialist in 2019 as a blog, then a podcast, then a YouTube channel, then whatever else it needed to become to keep […]

I want to argue why crypto is important from first principles and that requires a rebrand. My politics also have not changed, I just need a new outlet and a break.

I'm not leaving crypto and still building @breadcoop and @gaskiller_ (and very excited with what we have in store)

What's next: same formats like interviews, essays, video, etc. but a wider lens.

I believe there are multiple frontier technologies on the horizon that have already and will cross traditional political boundaries few people are taking on.

"Crypto" is now the most blocked word on X.

Six years of scams and extraction did that. Anyone not already in the space defaults to distrust before they hear a single argument.

I can't out-argue a poisoned well with a Patreon budget.

But the tech alone was never the point.

Blockchain was just the vessel for a bigger discussion around the ownership of technology. The name locked me into defending a category instead of making that argument.

I started TBS in 2019 from my bedroom, anonymously, so my boss wouldn't ask questions.

The bet was blockchains were going to matter, and the left had no real framework for engaging with them beyond dismissal and I believe this was correct and turned out true.

Some numbers first:

→ 204 podcast episodes
→ 250k+ plays
→ 53 blog posts
→ 1 published book
→ Too many online arguments
→ 0 times I compromised

Not bad for something as niche as this and without a cent from any state agency against what many people have thought.

This statement is super important and totally overlooked by most, in particular by the progressive left.

“… for Varoufakis, crypto represents an opposition to cloud capital. Or at least it can be. “

We dig into his concept of techno-feudalism and cloud capital, his monetary commons proposal for a transparent monetary system that could undercut private banks, and the digital wallet system he tried to build for Greece…
