We're celebrating Anne for 20 yrs of service to the kids & families we serve. Some of the kids Anne supported in her early yrs @ Amara are now grown. Anne, thank you for 2 decades of compassion & care! We’re so grateful for all you’ve given to Amara & the many lives you’ve touched along the way!🎉💛

It’s not easy being a kinship or foster caregiver.
DYK that Amara offers caregivers in No. King County & East Pierce County free individualized support to help navigate “the system” & to meet the needs of each child?
We help families connect to the resources families need. https://ow.ly/UVly50ZUKTS

We're feeling grateful for time well-spent with Tana Senn, Secretary of the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families earlier this week. When two leaders with hearts for children & families connect, good things happen.

Working w/kids & families involved in the foster care system is important work. It's life-changing work. It's hard work. Work that caring people carry w/them.
At Amara, no one has to carry it alone. We support each other & lift each other up. We know we're #bettertogether when we're #CloserTogether.

Let's bust a foster care myth!
Being a foster family is expensive.
NOPE! As a foster parent, you'll receive a monthly stipend to help care for the child in your care, and all kids in #fostercare have medical, dental & vision insurance. amarafamily.org/amara-foster...

Supporting children, teens & families during some of the most challenging times of their lives requires an engaged & committed community that cares, and is willing to put that care into action. We are grateful for our many partners who actively help us do this work.💛💛

We know there are a lot of myths surrounding foster care. Let's bust some of them!
We have to be heterosexual & married.
NOT TRUE! Amara is proud to work with all families regardless of race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, religion & income level.

Thank you Seattle @mariners.com for giving several of our families the opportunity to enjoy a day @ the ballpark!⚾️💛
For many families, attending a pro sports game simply isn’t financially possible. The chance to experience a MLB game in person means so much, especially to the youngest baseball fans.
