As a Dorico user, opening up Sibelius really gives me texting-your-ex vibes. It pops up at the bottom of the dock like ‘well well well’ and I have to insist that I’m in a healthy relationship with someone else and I just want my good T-shirt back (or in this case, convert a file to XML)

Too many bad things are happening and I’m really sad

Really struggling with the extent to which creative thought is under threat at the moment. It’s really difficult to advocate for the value of curiosity and skill when AI will just write you a song if you ask it nicely enough. How to explain that being able to do things with your own brain is fun?

Completely blown away by @graeaetheatre.bsky.social’s New Writing festival today. Usually heavily involved in the new music narrative, it was really welcoming to see how our friends in theatre are tackling the industry crisis. And there were some absolutely bloody compelling short plays.
