Hagués estat molt més impressionant si haguessin demostrat que sempre té un "bon" comportament. Trobar el cas que no el té, tot i què difícil, és anar refinant casos prometedors. I sembla que tenien un bon punt de partida.
NEW VIDEO: We need to talk about Navier-Stokes...

A lot of you have been asking for my take on the recent solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Problem, so I enlisted one of the best mathematicians in the world to help make sense of it all.

Premieres today at 5pm (GMT+1) - see you in the chat!

Mathematicians at OpenAI announced that a group of 10,000 autonomous AI agents under their direction proved that the Navier-Stokes equations can “blow up,” thus solving one of the six remaining Millennium Prize Problems. The result is not without controversy. www.quantamagazine.org/ai-has-solve...
AI Has Solved One of Math’s $1 Million Millennium Prize Problems | Quanta Magazine
Mathematicians at OpenAI showed that the Navier-Stokes equations, which describe how fluids flow, can sometimes “blow up.” But the massive result is not without controversy.

To see how huge TON 618 is, consider how *small* its surface gravity is. This is the force per unit test mass registered by a stationary observer at infinity holding the mass static right above the horizon via a long string. Weirdly, it's *small* for *big* black holes.

TON 618 is an enormous #quasar, a type of extremely luminous active galactic nucleus (AGN) at the center of a #galaxy.🔭

Its engine is one of the most massive black holes known.

QSO 1228+3128 is one of its alternative designations.⚛️🧪

Wow: enormous slabs of colder, denser rock slowly sink through the upper mantle until they hit the lower mantle 660 kilometers down! They're 30-100 km thick and up to a thousand km across.

Then they flatten out, piling up until they break through in million-year avalanches.

It's a very slow drama.
The Mantle
As we descend from the base of Earth’s crust through the mantle, the rock does not remain unchanged. Pressure and temperature rise inexorably, and the minerals that thrive at the surface are forced…

Presumably there are historical cases of civilizations going into decline due to unavoidable exogenous factors, but I have a new appreciation for the role played by the civilization itself just turning its back on everything that made it succeed.
