Ten years ago today, J. D. Vance called Trump “cultural heroin” in The Atlantic: “To every complex problem, he promises a simple solution … He never offers details for how these plans will work, because he can’t," Vance wrote of Trump.

Read the piece:
Opioid of the Masses (From 2016)
To many, Donald Trump feels good, but he can’t fix America’s growing social and cultural crisis, and the eventual comedown will be harsh.

Second (and last) #SCOTUS ruling is the big one, Louisiana v. Callais.

For a 6-3 majority (Rs v. Ds), Justice Alito purports to narrow the ability of states to draw majority-minority districts as a remedy for race-based vote dilution, but, per Kagan's dissent, comes pretty close to gutting the VRA:

It’s 1992. I’m 10 yrs old. Home Alone 2 comes out. I watched that movie and saw Donald Trump for 4 seconds, a man I’d never seen before or heard of. A stranger. An ‘extra’. And I knew that mother fucker was a shitty, terrible man.

That’s all it took. 4 seconds for a 10yr old.
