Dr Who lost it's way when the dedicated whole seasons to the demise of the Time Lords, Earth/humans and/or both. Isn't the ability to travel through time with humans in the tardis enough of a platform for creative sci-fi whimsy. Why is the universe always ending?

A problem with most sci-fi franchises recently is that every episode/season is a universe-ending existential crisis which makes everything over wrought and melodramatic. The best Star Treks were when the enterprise got lost in space and had quirky experiences in creatively realized alien worlds.

60 Minutes died when they sold out Dan Rather when he accurately reported George W's Bush desertion from the Vietnam War. Rather's team was rat fucked by a fishy document. He became the story. The desertion story died - despite being true. CBS News/60 minutes has been crap since then.

I can't make - very bummed. If anyone is at the screening, please let me know how the film looked. I've yet to see it on a big screen.
