My friend sent me this picture today of a bear that seems to be getting cosy on their property a lot at the moment. Don't think it's big enough for fat bear week, but I love it very much.

There's at a line at the end of the Buffy Episode, Once More With Feeling, where the demon says, "everything worked out just fine" and it's said by him because everything is very much not fine. I read that Trump quote in the same way!

Every year on 9/11 I think not only about the terror and horror of what happened that day, but the fury and terror unleashed on many other countries as a result of it.

I also also think of this photo my cousin took that day from her apartment in (I think) Brooklyn.

This was after my vegan schnitzel and apple strudel, both of which were excellent and the first time I have found a vegan version of traditional Austrian food this week.

Solo travelling is so great!

Today was REALLY good. I went on a tour of the UN in Vienna, but was the only person on the English tour so got a personalised version where I got to learn about which bits of the UN I was most interested in so got to learn about drugs and space!!

Big fan of hotels using weird mannequins instead of human models in their room photos.

My amazing local bakery has changed their savoury pastry swirl into a croissant, and I wasn't sure it would be as good.

I am a fool, an idiot, a stupid doubter.

It's incredible. Cheese, leek, and mustard 😍

While some people got A Level results for their teenagers today, my teenager got excellent results on his thyroid and liver blood test results. I worry so much every 6 months we have them done, but he's doing well for an old man and has just about forgiven me for having him sedated.

Reminded of this by @technicallyron.bsky.social and I'm definitely not going to miss the heat until at least October this year.

This is a constant disagreement in our household. Alan claims deprivation of treats, I say he's only allowed them if he's not thrown up on my rug (or foot as it was last week) that day. As you can see, he is just skin and bones.

I assume the role profile has been totally updated, because these were definitely not skills required by previous role holders!

Absolute perfection

Today in Cardiff I saw seagull cannibalism and then saw Self Esteem. I only took a photo of one of those two events.

Just a heads up, replying in a weird accusatory tone like this about a silly post about my absolutely adored and pampered cat, is an instant block. He's 15, he's a rescue, and he's perfect. I just don't enjoy being thrown up on!

One of the many reasons English people should have friends from other countries, especially places like Wales and Scotland, is we are very familiar with our team losing and don't need a whole, front page, top news story on how to deal with our sports teams losing.

Perfect evening for a bit of Shakespeare.

Champions Cup draw is gnarly. But... if we get Northampton and Stade away I get an excuse to visit my besties and be enemies with them for the day, so that'll be fun!

Just remembered this classic tweet.

Closely followed by this one for pure comedy

Probably this, given how important it was both to rugby union and global politics

Totally forgotten they'd filmed Death Valley at Insole Court! They had to redecorate bits of the mansion for it and until recently some of the wallpaper was still there. Thankfully the outside of the mansion has recently been cleaned and looks beautiful again.

Went to see Jinkx Monsoon in 'End of the Rainbow'. I didn't know her before going, and it was a good performance, but someone really needs to tell the production team to cut about 30 mins out. A 2.5 hour play, plus interval, is far too long.
