It is extremely encouraging to know the Youngs understand Bookshop Girl is an erotic icon. Some things *are* eternal.
Here to tell you that the chemistry and tension in this scene still hits for 2026 teenagers, as evidenced by the very vocal reactions of my students today

The idea that classrooms are chiefly spaces for product testing, and that it is irresponsible pedagogy not to enforce this, is both cynical and vile, and “fuck off” is a cogent response from any professional educator to any non-teaching salescreep or tech-but-not-subject-matter expert who voices it.

I am endlessly devastated at how many people seem to think that one series is the only game in town.
The Hunger Games, Animorphs, A Series of Unfortunate Events, etc. are all just as fun to read out loud. And maybe have more nuance in approaching how special kids are and what's expected of them

Ah yes, the classic liberal “if I just pretend the problem doesn’t exist then I don’t have to actually think about it” mentality that gave us hits like “I don’t see color.”

Presumably it's because actually staging each scene based on the lighting was too much effort
yeah, who wants a series that got 11 Emmy nominations, a 92% RT score, and everyone seemed to like
