Starting the first vacation day on midsummer with cold brew coffee, freshly baked bread, strawberries and a cozy book. Homemade rhubarb cake for second breakfast and all I hear outside are chirping birds. Doesn’t get any better than that.

Having played a lot of Dungeons & Dragons and rpg games in my days, I absolutely love the book series ”Dungeon crawler Carl” by Matt Dinniman!

As a kid I spent my holidays binge reading. As an adult I spend them on cooking, cleaning, repairing, maintenance, preparing, planning, sorting, appointments and musts. I’ll try to do most before the vacation this year so I can binge read and eat strawberries instead of fixing things.

Spent so long helping and taking care of others it’s now difficult to know where they end and I start. I find myself still doing what they would’ve wanted me to do. Then I get the weird feeling of knowing I don’t have to anymore. I can set my own rules and this summer is all mine. Time to live again

I’ve been grumpy gremlin my way through the day but now I’ve just eaten and I feel like a happy little animal, cozying down into a blanket with a happy sigh and some tea.

I haven’t touched my electric guitar in ages cuz exhaustion and lack of time, but now I actually did pick it up and learned the intro to Ozzy’s Crazy train! Maybe one day I’ll even manage to play a whole song 🎶

When the brain says the logical thing is to let go but the heart is an emotional justice warrior it sends the body into an overthinking anxiety spiral. I wish the two could just get along, just once.

I’m all anxious and restless today which means working from home is a struggle. And for some reason I’m now sitting here munching popcorn. Chewing helps with focus right?

Interestingly enough its sun on one side of the house and rain on the other so I’m bringing my umbrella for the forest walk. Never know if the clouds decide to follow me 😁
