Lol. I bet Yun-Ta thinks so.

Anyway. Pretty much demonstrates that the remaining personnel on Tesla's Autopilot Team went to the Elon Musk School of Robotics - which only contains incompetence and lies.

If we actually had auto safety regulators anywhere globally, hard questions might be asked.

I saw someone breathlessly talking about this as "AI produced proofs that will take humanity years to understand" ... which just told me that they really don't know what scholarship is, in math or otherwise.

Complete non-answers, and must say the Guardian isn't really providing any analysis. Wonder why? Oh, nothing to do with that partnership with OpenAI I assume

The web and mobile apps of major conversational AI engines transmit prompts, titles and conversation permalinks to advertising data firms, alongside device IDs, hashed email and other persistent identifiers.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but the autonomous vehicle developers who most vocally argued that society must accept a certain number of deaths to enjoy the technology's safety benefits (Tesla & Uber ATG) were the only ones who killed people and never actually delivered on their promises

More than a trillion dollars and four years into the AI bubble, it's not unreasonable to expect that we'd have solid data showing that AI was this major economic agent of change.

Premium Newsletter: How Has AI Changed The Economy? Not very much outside of GPU sales and data center construction, with AI software sales and GPU rentals having a negligible effect, even as BLS data overemphasizes software's contribution to real GDP.

Anyone paying attention to the steady degradation of SpaceX in the past few years knows "exceptional ability" is def not present there
Snagging one of the 2,500 open jobs at newly public SpaceX requires “exceptional ability” and tacit loyalty, and Elon Musk may review your resume himself. Read more here: bloom.bg/3W0e9mk

Nah mate I don't have the will to engage in a futile "debate" with you because you are an old moron who thinks they know better than anyone. No argument would ever convince you. The only remaining thing to do is point and laugh!
This guy here is a very nice example of someone who has no counter-arguments, and embarrassed by his inability to support his particular bias, turns to insults instead.

Muted.

This guy here is a very nice example of a combo "old scientist who think they know everything better than you" and "old scientist gets oneshot by chatbots and lose the plot"
There are an awful lot of accounts here that have suddenly become experts on AI despite having zero training in minds, brains, computers, emergent behavior, software systems, and so forth.

And they get really mad when you point out they're talking nonsense.

For some reason a lot of academics except it to be different for them and I still don't understand why.
AI firms' campaigns to fleece universities (via their software-purchasing administrators) have been wildly successful, from both the standpoints of revenue generation and lapping up a ton of student content

why would anyone expect different behavior with the scientific work done at universities?
