Check out our WP “What We RANDomly Did Not Learn:Wave Zero of the US Opioid Epidemic” (w/Cecilia Diaz-Campo). We look back 20 years before the modern opioid crisis to uncover overlooked facts about the widespread use of prescribed opioids. We also examine how insurance generosity shaped consumption.
In her latest WP, @wilfridlaurieruni.bsky.social prof @antomancino.bsky.social with co-author Cecilia Diaz-Campo use data to document patterns of opioid use in the US, focusing on wave zero of the epidemic, and establish a link between health insurance plan generosity and opioid abuse.
