The most generous possible way to interpret Hickenlooper agreeing to this is as an expression of his belief that his own party’s primary voters don’t matter.

The uncharitable read is that it’s more or less a taunt aimed at Julie Gonzales.

NEW poll shows a Democratic socialist born in 1997 leading against a veteran Democrat who first took office in 1997.

The CO-1 Democratic primary poll shows 29-year-old Melat Kiros ahead of Diana DeGette, 41-36.

*38-point-swing* toward Kiros since March.

(You can see for yourself just how grossly that headline mischaracterizes Kiros' anodyne acknowledgment of the decades-long cycles of violence that define the Israel-Palestine conflict. Don't think this kind of thing is really working anymore, and certainly not when it's this thin and desperate.)

Looks like Rep. Diana DeGette briefly ran this digital ad promoting a wild smear of left-wing primary challenger Melat Kiros. It's been taken down after being active for just 13 hours yesterday.

Senator @hickenlooper.bsky.social is too busy to speak with the media, too busy to schedule a debate, too busy to face the voters. But he will find time to ask for money from groups like the American Petroleum Institute PAC and AIPAC. Make it make sense.

The Colorado Pols take on the Hickenlooper primary is basically: he has $4 million, so it's over.

Sure...But maybe consider what it says about your candidate that the best argument for him is how much money he has?

Diana DeGette has been in Congress since 1997. She still can’t answer a constituent’s question about Palestine.

Voters don’t punish you for being on the wrong side. They punish you for being too afraid to have a side at all.

Evasion isn’t caution. It’s cowardice. And voters are done rewarding it.

A constituent asked Rep. DeGette a direct question about Palestine. She couldn’t answer it. 30 years in Congress. Millions from corporate PACs. And she can’t look a Denver voter in the eye and say where she stands.

We need new leadership.

Keep an eye on the Colorado Senate Democratic primary.

John Hickenlooper is being challenged from the left by Julie Gonzales, and she’s showing signs of strength and energy.

If there was a race where a progressive could topple a standard Dem incumbent in a safe blue seat, this might be it.

Senator John Hickenlooper has dropped out of the Colorado Democratic caucus fearing he will not receive the 30% vote needed to qualify for the 2026 primary ballot

He will rely on signature collection to qualify. His challenger, Julie Gonzales, is projected to win the caucus

Denver just had its AOC vs Crowley moment.

For the first time in 30 YEARS, Dianna DeGette LOST the Denver County Assembly by 33 points (66-33).

Melat Kiros, backed by DSA & Justice Democrats, won the top line w/ a SUPERMAJORITY

DeGette 3% from missing the ballot entirely.
