Every day that major media fail to clearly declare that the president is out of his mind and is building a dictatorship is a day when they are betraying their duty to the American people.

Whistleblower warns that new U.S. Postal Service mail-ballot system is “secretive, rushed, chaotic, and fundamentally flawed” and risks a “catastrophic failure” that could prevent millions of Americans from receiving ballots in November.

I am a strong believer in freedom of religion. However, I also strongly feel that your freedom of religion ends at forcing your religion on other people. This includes parents forcing religion on their children. I beg society to treat children as individual people and not property of their parents.

Given rising interest in the rapidly strengthening El Niño event in the tropical Pacific Ocean, I've created a one-page fact sheet succinctly describing what El Niño is, this year's (remarkable) forecast, and potential impacts from California to global scales. [Thread]

For the first time, a peer-reviewed study has "drawn a straight line from single corporate emitters like Exxon or Chevron ... to specific heatwaves and areas of extreme rainfall."

The new methodological framework could make it much easier to hold Big Oil accountable for its climate lies.
It just got way easier to sue fossil fuel companies over climate change
For years, industry has argued you can't prove which company caused which disaster. A new study says otherwise.

I missed the news months ago but this is making the rounds again so I think worth sharing that the best estimate of warming by 2100 is roughly 2.6C based on current policies alone

The Vox article in question (which I can't read, paywall) claims in the headline that the "worst case is cancelled",

It's ENSO-forecast day at NOAA — the perfect day for an ENSO announcement of our own. Starting next week, we're taking baby steps toward rebooting the ENSO Blog, which ran on Climate(.)gov from 2014–2025. 🌎️🧪 [1/4]

With Spain beating France, I've jumped from 10th to 3rd in my bracket pool. Thankfully, from my read of the rest of the pool, I think I can no longer drop positions even if Argentina lose their semifinal. I move into second if Argentina make the final, and I win if Argentina wins. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

The individual final of Puzzle Palooza is done! Another tough puzzle... Exactly 75% done in 90min - I would've definitely finished if the final was 2hrs like the heats were (end-of-solve speed up assumed).

F*** the whole tech industry, this is just so ridiculous
Samsung Electronics said that its latest quarterly operating profit was nearly 20 times higher than last year’s, spurred by a seemingly insatiable demand for memory chips used in data centers for artificial intelligence.

The A.I. boom has propelled the South Korean tech giant’s earnings, but its shares sank as investors had even loftier expectations.

The government running party primary elections instead of letting parties pick their own nominees in the manner of their choosing is a weird American thing that eviscerates the fundamental purpose of political parties and it's bad, actually.
