Resting miserable face - Local DJ - #RDGUK - Gamer - Coffee - Boring football stuff - Member of 'Tom Brown Quiz Club' - not actually Le Bon - bring back the Mushroom Double Swiss
485. LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening - I've always thought i'd like LCD but have never given any of their albums a listen. Turns out, yeah, I do like them. Very enjoyable (lengthy) electro/dance tracks with big influences from Bowie/Roxy etc

Arsenal average the most passes per goalscoring sequence of any team in Europe's top five leagues and UEFA competition.

The average Arsenal goal this season is preceded by 7.3 passes. Manchester City are second at 6.6.

486. Teenage Fanclub - Grand Prix - Jangly guitar pop stuff. Not especially my thing nowadays but pleasant enough. I preferred the tracks that were a little different, like Verisimilitude. @uncutmagazine.bsky.social #500greatalbums

487. The Raincoats - Odyshape - A very timeless sounding album. It would be hard to place it if it wasn't for the vocals. Quite proggy, quite minimalist, very avant garde. I think if I listened to it more it'd grow on me. Reminded me of Laurie Anderson a bit.

488. The Cure - Seventeen Seconds - Really liked this. It has a similar deadening production that The Idiot had but they seem to lean into it a lot more. I've head A Forest countless times before but everything else was new to me and has the same 'evil' vibe

489. Bob Marley & The Wailers - Natty Dread -Enjoyable to listen to. Not something I would probably return to but wouldn't be upset to hear again. Them Belly Full was a highlight.

490. Chuck Berry - After School Session - Lovely trebbly sounds. Disappointed there aren't more 'hits' on this one as these early records were more single collections then albums. Really liked the instrumental tracks.

491. Sturgill Simpson - Metamodern Sounds in Country Music. Quite chill. I liked the spacier sounding songs more than the more traditional ones. With this, and the earlier Uncle Tupelo album, I've come to terms with the fact I don't dislike Country as much as I thought.

492. Cardiacs - Sing to God. First Cardiacs listen for me. Fuck me. What to say about this album? It's mental! Like an anxiety ridden Blur/Mansun/Rush pompousity fused ride. I loved it and hated it at the same time. I'll have to listen to it again sometime when I've calmed down.

493. Bruce Springsteen - Born in the U.S.A. First listen to the Boss for me. Really enjoyed it, sounded like a man right at the top of his game. Unabashedly big sounding tunes. Catchy melodies and heart firmyl on sleeve lyrics.

494. The Pogues - Rum Sodomy & the Lash. First time listening to the Pogues. Lots of fun this one, varies from boozy ballads to poignant tracks about the pointlessness of war.

495. Randy Newman - Good Old Boys. The first album on this list I didn't really get on with at all. Was excited to hear as I only really knew him from that Toy Story song and that sketch from Family Guy. I'm sure it has its fans but just didnt gel with me.

496. The Beatles - Let It Be. Another one I own. It's a good record, probably the worst of their albumy albums (since Help!) but the Beatles at their worst are still amazing. Really love Two Of Us and I Me Mine.

497. Iggy Pop - The Idiot. The first of these records that I already own. There's some great songs but overall I find the production to be very flat. I get that minimalism was kinda the point but not sure it works with Iggy's OTT energy.

498. Uncle Tupelo - March 16-20, 1992. I've not listened to much country before and have never heard of this band (turned out some members formed Wilco) but I really liked this. The opener and Sandusky are big standouts.

499. Massive Attack - Protection - I own Mezzanine and Blue Lines but not heard this before. A lot more chill than Mezzanine, but missing something. Recognised a few songs, probably from MTV in the 90's. #uncut500

500. Crosby, Stills & Nash - Crosby, Stills & Nash - I'm a big Neil Young fan so was interested to listen to his sometime musical cohorts. It's a nice album, not much really stood out to me but I imagine it would with further listens.

Currently going through Uncuts 500 Greatest albums list. Have got to 491 so far, might give my very short review of each. I say might, I'm clearly going to do it anyway.

Order of the Sinking Star looks very good, it'd be nice if everyone stopped making games for a year so that I could catch up.
