I want libraries to be the *actual* data centers that they could be.

- Local email/digital services
- Allowing people to back up their lives in an encrypted way
- More equipment loan programs
- Municipal cell services and setup

Make the library replace Big Tech
Ok if we're in dream big mode, I really want to see progressive candidates talking about the importance of digital public infrastructure for democracy. Tell me about your plans for funding R&D on healthier information environments. Urbanism but applied to digital spaces. ATProto Mamdani

provisioning a server with several tightly integrated vms using nixos, microvm-nix, and agenix, where all the vm configuration is included in a single system config. I seriously can't imagine how painful this would be without nixos

this is something that I've been struggling with – there are now a half-dozen new CAD kernels in Rust, all with the same perfectly polished websites and bold claims about performance, test coverage, and quality

The fetish for Rust tools to be written in Rust has robbed us of correct, verifiable, efficient tools. Have you tried formally verifying a Rust program? I have. You can have my notes, I don't need them anymore.

God forbid we build abstractions, I hear we have to pay for those.
