Yeah, and the willingness to do that makes it all the more enraging to see some global north radical appropriating that trauma to give themselves license to be antisemitic, and go nuclear at you for “centering Jewish feelings” if you have a problem with it.

Huge numbers of American Jews who believed they were safe with the broad left had that belief suddenly and catastrophically fractured when a significant number of people openly celebrated a pretty horrific mass slaughter of civilians, and then subsequently decided that no none of that happened.

"I have the right beliefs, but I have done questionable things about which I am sorry" is a fine life path for *nearly everyone on the planet,* but it is notably a disqualifying life course for *a position of power* and the fact that this wasn't obvious to a lot of people in October is concerning.

I viewed abstraction as a stroke survivor. They‘re still alive, but permanently changed. They have difficulty communicating and may lash out in frustration when they wouldn’t normally, but traces of their original self remains. Having family with this, the fear, pity, and want to help them hit hard.

Pomni’s empathy for Jax is intentional. While nobody can “fix” Jax other than himself, he’s still a person, one who *did* turn out better in another life. Jax and Caine made people feel unwanted and unloved, but Pomni doesn’t have to; that’s why they built his tent and made the cellar more pleasant.

Jax’s story is a cautionary tale; he doubles down on his poor coping mechanisms and won’t open up, even as he makes himself and others miserable. I feel the best reaction to him is pity - shaking our heads at him, noting where he went wrong and HOW he became that way so we don’t end up like him.

I personally think either is fine but that's just me. It was meant to be kinda subtle and vague, but I'm really bad at making things subtle.

It really did humanize Jax and give you some sympathy for him/her while still letting you realize that they did fuck up enormously because of how they acted after coming out to one person, closing themselves off right afterwards, and then just treating everyone around them like shit.

This isn’t aimed at my industry colleagues voicing their concerns, I mean I was one of them, being quite mad! But if you’re just a former fan of Jorge’s, voice your disappointment and then hit that good ol’ nuclear block. No future quote dunking of anything he posts later! I’ll get the spray bottle

I don’t care if he is non apologizing or whatever, he reversed course. Now he has to rebuild trust with his peers and that will take a long time. Actions need to follow the apology sure, but that’s not owed to Frankfootfan563, it’s owed to the people he works with, to not pull the same shit again.

The French Revolution led to Napolean.

Almost all citizens revolutions lead to two things

1) the moderately wealthy who used their influence to spark the revolution become very wealthy

2) fertile farmland outside of the towns where the mass graves for the poor were dug.

According to leftists, Hamas are freedom fighters.

Sexually assaulting women, kidnapping children, and killing and injuring innocent civilians all count as “resistance”.

It’s absolutely insane.

Also, even if you COULD easily write an autopsy on that ludicrous election, what would that accomplish?

I've been saying for years, the pundits have it precisely backwards. It's when Democrats WIN that they need to change tactics, not when they lose.
The DNC autopsy may be trash, but I’m sympathetic to anyone whose job it is to write an autopsy in the first place. The 2024 election didn’t make sense, it broke the rules in ways everyone found confounding at the time, and it’s not reasonable to expect sole consultant to solve the mystery here.

Earlier today I saw someone on Twitter call out Trump getting Colbert cancelled as the authoritarian nightmare it is, and of course the replies were full of "the show was losing money! Trump had nothing to do with it!"

Well TRUMP sure seems to think Trump had something to do with it.
We are very far off the cliff, folks. @CBS should be avoided entirely. Shame on them.

Marcia Lucas IS the reason why the original Star Wars worked so well. If you've ever wondered why the prequels don't measure up, a big reason is because they didn't have Marcia. RIP.

This farcical bullshit could only work with a a completely supine congressional majority with zero interest in protecting its constitutional prerogatives, so you have to admit Trump understands the political context perfectly
Trump sent a letter to Congress informing them that the clock on the war with Iran reset, and a new 60 days of war can start without consent from Congress.
