Shipped a blog calendar in AskAiRank, beta for now. Instead of listing every article by hand, it pulls your last three months of blog posts and scores them, so it is clear which ones AI actually picks up.

Data drop: our tracker ran about 18,500 checks in 30 days across 8 AI engines. DeepSeek and OpenAI lead at roughly 2,900 each, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and Anthropic sit around 2,500 each, Llama and Mistral around 1,400 each. Most AEO advice online only talks about ChatGPT.

This week I turned a single AskAiRank post about ChatGPT SEO into a proper pillar page with five linked articles around it, instead of one post sitting alone. Apparently that cluster structure is what actually gets picked up in AI answers, not the lone post.

What moves the needle for showing up in ChatGPT: reviews on G2 and Capterra, other people's "best tools for X" listicles, Reddit and HN threads naming your product, press others link to. Third-party corroboration is the currency now. https://askairank.com/blog/why-chatgpt-doesnt-know-about-your-saas

This is the core question we're trying to solve with AskAiRank. Most brands have no idea if they're even showing up in Claude or Perplexity answers yet.

Most AskAiRank signups go quiet by day fourteen. I was assuming people just did not need the product, but it looks more like they never really got started. Changing how we introduce new users to the core features. Small shift, but it feels like the right place to focus.

In the citation data we capture across 8 AI engines, source links show up almost only when Perplexity answers. Not because it is the most popular, but because the other 7 engines rarely expose which pages they used at all. It is also the easiest engine to actually influence.

This week's blog post: a GEO content strategy needs different math than SEO. Google shows 10 organic slots. A typical AI answer names 3 to 5 products. Your own site is one input, third-party reviews and community threads carry real weight. https://askairank.com/blog/geo-content-strategy-for-saas

Small feature I shipped today for AskAiRank: the blog calendar now pulls real Search Console clicks and impressions straight into the admin view, no more guessing from a spreadsheet. Doesn't sound like much, but now I actually know which posts deserve more of my time.

Top cited domains in AI answers across every brand we track, last 30 days: reddit.com, YouTube, App Store, Google Workspace, GitHub, Google Play, Chrome Web Store, Zapier. Reddit leads by a wide margin. https://askairank.com/blog/citation-tracking-most-actionable-aeo-metric

AskAiRank just passed 30 signed-up accounts, tracking 26 brands and 214 prompts combined. Still small, but weekly signups have grown every single week for the last month. First time this has felt like more than a side project to me.

Why we built AskAiRank: Google Analytics has no answer for "did ChatGPT recommend us." So we built a tracker that runs your prompts against 8 AI engines and counts the mentions. Right now that is about 18,500 checks a month across the brands we track. https://askairank.com

Looked at 30 days of AI citations AskAiRank tracks: Reddit shows up in roughly 55% of them, and all of those come from Perplexity specifically, none from OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude. Ranking well in Google is clearly not the whole game anymore.

3 AEO myths worth killing: llms.txt improves Google AI visibility (Google says it does not use it), longer articles get cited more (correlation near zero), a top-10 ranking is required to get cited (only ~38% come from page 1). https://askairank.com/blog/citation-tracking-most-actionable-aeo-metric

What you actually see: a daily visibility score per engine, the prompts where you show up, the competitors named next to you, and the pages AI cites in those answers. You set it up once with your own prompts. https://askairank.com

Dropped the AskAiRank blog from daily to three posts a week. Posting every day was not moving a single keyword ranking, it was just filling a calendar. Going slower and being more deliberate about topics is working better so far.

I've been writing AskAiRank blog posts on instinct for months. Last week I actually looked at the data and found that three specific topics drive almost all our signups. Everything else is just noise. That's the unglamorous part of building in public nobody talks about.

What makes LLMs recommend one product over another. We looked at thousands of AI responses and saw it clearly: they trust what communities say about you, not what you say about yourself. https://askairank.com/blog/citation-tracking-most-actionable-aeo-metric

Exactly. We see this constantly: a brand gets cited in the AI answer but in a way that doesn't drive action, or gets mentioned alongside stronger competitors.

Keyword stuffing is still ineffective, but it's worth noting that completeness matters way more than structure tricks.

Two AskAiRank users reported weird bugs this week that turned out to be the same root cause: an old tab quietly running JS from days ago. Added a check now, the app notices a stale deploy and reloads itself.

AskAiRank tracks whether AI assistants recommend your product. We run your prompts against ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and four more engines, then show who gets mentioned and which sources get cited. https://askairank.com
August 24, 2026 at 3:10 PM
That approach doesn't match what we see in AI answers. Content length barely correlates with citations, and completeness matters more than volume.
August 24, 2026 at 11:37 AM
If someone asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for a tool like yours, does your name come up. AskAiRank checks that across eight AI engines every day, shows who gets named instead of you, and which pages those answers cite. askairank.com
