also gestures at my first-gen iraqi background, so my bitter distaste for it increases tenfold when i see elements like this ignored time and time again. i'm not saying people aren't allowed to enjoy it, just acknowledgement goes a long way when middle eastern tragedies are treated as set pieces

another thing: i've seen people wave away ad* shank*r's involvement which i find absolutely, ridiculously insensitive to the people who he has been predatory towards, particularly when the writer they praise openly touts his friendship with this beloathed producer/showrunner

i hope this expac will turn things around. ffxiv is so dear to me that i would hate to see everything it built go downhill, there's so much they could explore but if they keep going down the path of meaningless meanderings that don't dig into the deeply emotional explorations it used to do then idk!

if i'm being fully transparent about the previous expansion, it did end in misery and disappointment for me particularly since the preceding expansions were such a devastating combination of beautiful prose and storytelling + a whole host of other complaints about the azem motifs being done in vain

i viewed the polyhedron as an extension of that intrigue, particularly so when a lot of ingenious scientific concepts are rooted in creativity, finding a pathway others haven't trodden yadda yadda. i think daniil would actually be an outspoken hater because nfts/crypto/etc undermines human ingenuity

u know the yaoi is good when you go into the game ready to be a hater but you saw the biblical passages of their painfully poetic phrases that they throw at each other + other insane acts that they do for/to each other... like frankly, the devs are at fault here for giving us the brainrot!!!!

EXACTLY and also my biggest and most shameful confession i have to make is i went into p1 thinking there's no canon basis for burakhovsky and was prepared to be disappointed... but then the exact opposite happened where i realized i had to put the clown makeup on ESPECIALLY after the haruspex route
