My chicken that was mauled by a raccoon, plucked, partially degloved... still alive. Still living in a dog kennel. About to move outside to a holding box to make sure she's ok. Brownie will get special chicken overalls.

The more I think about it, the more I regret not just running away at age 14. I don't see it as losing what I've accomplished. I would have accomplished different things.

I would go super villain. Making horrible creatures. Engineering virsuses. Making plants that are fine unless you stop eating them and then you expire.

Sugar gliders are just so good-natured. You tell them to let the little one eat and they make room. They just didn't notice. You can take food from the bowl and give to the joey. The adults will encourage it to eat what you gave it. My goal is to give them really tasty things to encourage weaning.

Almost 30 years ago a farming family deeded land to the City of Taylor, Texas, on the condition the city use it for a public park. For the nominal fee of $10, the farmers granted the 87 acres to a public trust in 1999. Taylor sold it to Blueprint, a data center developer, for $10 million in 2025.

I made a dust bath for the chicklets. That retro turtle? Same company still makes it. I had one of these as a kid.
The dust bath is sand, fine white ash, and diatomaceous earth. It helps them stay clean and helps with pests.
