my family was visiting relatives in new jersey, we had actually visited the towers on 9/9/01 as part of our nyc day trip.

Friday morning, I was gardening when I checked my phone. A request had gone out for help.
For 25+ hours, ICE had been laying siege to a quiet neighborhood in Frederick, MD. Community members were afraid, some didn’t want to leave their homes.
ICE vehicles seemed to be lurking on every corner.

You can’t be a musician AND a music fan. Musicians have to make difficult decisions: omitting notes, deleting tracks, abandoning projects, rejecting musical structures. To do this, you need to be dispassionate and detached, with an eye on getting results, not just thinking about the music you enjoy.
