1.3 is live! 🎉

Follow the authors you love to keep their catalogs a tap away, and filter by Coming Soon to see what they have on the way.

SOO glad iOS27 lets devs choose between the toolbar edge effects. Atlas was built around soft edged toolbars to highlight your book covers as much as possible. The hard edged version hides so much beneath them. Soft edged toolbars are staying in Atlas.

Atlas 1.1 is now live! 🎉

Some books are worth returning to. The favorites, the comfort reads, the ones you keep thinking about years later. Now you can start a re-read from any finished book in Atlas 📚💙

After a couple weeks of development, the ability to mark books as re-reads is now ready for testing! Would love help from anyone interested in giving it a try, seeing if you can break it, and providing feedback 📚💙

I've been quietly working on re-reading for Atlas 1.1, and it’s by far the most complex feature in Atlas so far. Supporting multiple instances of the same book while linking to one detail view has created some interesting logic challenges. But, re-reading is coming soon! 📚💙 #iOS #iOSDev #indiedev

Atlas 1.0.1 is out. A few small fixes from the first week after launch, including one where your screen now stays awake during your import. Atlas brewed some coffee.

Thanks to everyone who’s downloaded and tried it out so far. More soon!

📚💙 Happy reading,
- Austin

Reading is slow. It's quiet. It's private and personal.

It's one of the few things left you can do that has no audience, no metrics, no achievements, no end-of-year recap, no paywalls, and no "you haven't opened me today" notifications.

Why would I want my book tracking app to add all of that?

Somewhere along the way, book tracking apps stopped being about the simple joy of reading. They became habit trackers, stat dashboards, and social networks that end up making you feel guilty for not reading. But ultimately we read because we love to, not because we have to. Atlas respects that. 📚💙

An atlas is a book of maps. It shows you where you’ve been, and where you might go next. That felt right for an app that does the same for your reading.

In Atlas, your home screen is the map, your lists are the routes, and every book a destination. Yours to explore at your own pace. 📚💙 #iosdev #ios

I built Atlas because every book tracking app I tried felt like it was designed for someone else. Cluttered interfaces, endless menus, features more interested in keeping me inside the app than helping me get back to my book.

My favorite thing about going to any bookstore is looking at all the cover art. In Atlas I wanted to make sure covers were front and center. Tap any cover, pinch to zoom in, and notice the fine details.

Also shoutout to Faithbreaker and the Fallen Gods series, one of my all time favorites.

Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman. Has the bones of The Road but medieval. Exactly the kind of dark atmosphere I’ve been craving lately. I’m a few chapters in and I’m hooked

Atlas is a new indie book tracking app coming soon to the App Store. One of my favorite features: leaving a note on any book in your library. A few words, a quote, a memory of where you read it, a personal review, whatever you want to remember. #BookSky #AmReading #IndieApp
