BRETT KAVANAUGH: "Can you explain exactly how the consent would work?"

Just saying... if *I* were Brett Kavanaugh, *I* WOULDN'T ASK A QUESTION SHOWING THAT I WAS CONFUSED HOW CONSENT WORKS! But maybe that's just me.

Hey @oagmaryland.bsky.social what are doing about this flagrant disregard for the law & the environment?

Ben Flahart’s farm has repeatedly caused major fish kills in the last year *after* being under a settlement agreement to reduce pollution.

If you can’t act what is the point of voting for you?

There’s this weird phenomena that, best I can tell, is only on Bluesky, but is people certain that “no one told Harris and Walz to stop saying ‘weird’, that’s a myth.”

It’s not, and there’s named sources in CNN articles about, from August 2024.
"First, said veteran Democratic numbers man Geoff Garin, summarizing [the pollsters'] analysis, stop saying, “We’re not going back.” It wasn’t focused enough on the future, he argued. Second, lay off all the “weird” talk — too negative."

As much as I hate to say it because it’s cheap webforum meta discourse, the strongest correlation to Platner support wasn’t ideology, it was if you still frequently use X, The Everything App. I would hope that would lead to some introspection about what remaining on there does to your judgement.
Like I said, there's no small amount of finger-pointing that's going to happen as a result of this.

But Platner was a creation of Ryan Grim, Bernie Sanders, and Matt Stoller, as much as he was of Pod Save America and Matt Yglesias. That's what has to be reckoned with.

We have a real crisis of masculinity in this country. It's apparently a problem across the political spectrum.

Like what the fuck is this shit?

No, you're not a man because you have a Nazi tattoo and are misogynistic. That just makes you an asshole.
Ken Klippenstein should never live this down.

perhaps we should view nazi tattoos as disqualifying from here on out. i kind of assumed we'd already view them as disqualifying but was unpleasantly surprised so maybe from here we could all agree not to downplay nazi tattoos since they seem pretty indicative of broad disregard for human dignity

We aren’t sorcerers! We just don’t fuck with Nazis.

People still on Twitter are hanging out in a literal Nazi bar and should have some self respect and leave. They don’t have to come here! Just leave the Nazi bar.

Idk man, I think the journalists who have been traumatized the most were not sitting in that room tonight. The feds gassed the shit out of us, knocked us over, sent in the local PD to harass, detain, and hurt us, shot a teenaged photographer in the face and he lost an eye, and that's just in LA
People here are being really shitty, including at fellow journalists who've been traumatized, and you will regret those posts. Or should.

Also this does not help your political cause, whatever that might be.

A powerful man sexually pursuing a young woman who works for him is oppressive. It immediately limits and reshapes her future to her detriment, whether she is physically forced into it or not. It’s coercion either way, and that is why it’s so wrong. It’s an abuse of power.
