Feel better! I've lost count of the number of times I've rewritten my book blurbs.

Of course. They love folks doing the equivalent of putting their money in a pile and setting it on fire, except the gambling apps get to keep the cash. And if you ever actually win on these sites, you get banned. They're built solely to take people's money and need to go away yesterday.

Hurricane Sandy resulted in massive power outages in Lower Manhattan and stranded thousands of people who couldn't easily leave the city. (Our son, at NYU, finally got a Chinatown bus to Philly.) The island's coastal infrastructure needs to be re-engineered to prevent these repeated flooding crises.

We need regulation on ALL types of buildings. Don't call them data centers--they'll just change the name. Prohibit water-based cooling systems. Prohibit buildings putting out excessive (give concrete numbers) heat on the exterior, prohibit excessive noise output. Outlaw what they're DOING.

Has everyone wiped from their memories the existence of the incredibly prolific Isaac Asimov? Not a single mention of him in these comments.

When did we have to start seeing what every person doing a podcast looks like? Weren't podcasts originally supposed to be like radio but where you could pick and choose what to listen to, instead of just tuning into a station and listening to whatever they decided to air?

Bezos is lying. It was meant for adults to support their families. But that lie is why it's been static for 17 years. The truth is, not only is it supposed to literally be a living wage, it's the wage many other wages are indexed to, so keeping the minimum wage low keeps EVERYONE'S wages low.

What they really mean is their view of the world, which they try to justify with their convoluted, biased interpretations of a document of dubious provenance that 99.99% of them have never read in the original languages, so they're mostly using bad translations with an axe to grind.

At least it's not a doctor, but the fact that she's telling patients her stance on vaccines means she could be trying to influence people while on the job. Report her to her supervisor.

And pretty much everything Donnie says is in competition for "dumbest". Honestly, the word "artificial" was the only accurate part of that description.

Is this also one of those nutjobs claiming that they trusted him because he was a good Christian man? Because we know how tethered to reality those people are NOT.

Which was supposed to be what, exactly? Tortillas? Grills? Porridge? I got nothing.

Right! Another reason why I am always typing "cat" and never "car"--never owned one, never drove one, don't have a license. But we purposefully bought our house 100 paces away from an intersection where 3 buses stopped (now 4 buses, yay!) and have been glad about that for 36 years!

Which simply means the tech companies aren't spying on us ENOUGH, because all autocorrect needs to do to read the room is see how many cat photos we have on our phones to conclude that we really DO mean "cat" when we type "cat".

Suggesting that a science fiction writer do romance instead is like saying to Stephen King, "But have you TRIED writing flarf poetry?"
