Our kids have been not doing so great on the complex and/or written response questions on bio exams, so we're making them do more writing in class.
I'm grading last week's practice and got so frustrated at kids not fully answering that I'm putting stickers on the papers of those that are.

Our local superintendent is coming to observe my department + our 5th or 7th period classes next week, and I deeply suspect some of the materials one of the course team leads provided for the lesson was AI generated.
I only noticed this as I was adapting it for my language learners.

Did the math, and I have a total of 95 students total on my rosters this year. Average out to about 19 kids per class, which is honestly pretty great.
However, with the changes in our ESOL plan writing system this year, I have to answer a ~15 question survey for 73 of them.
And it's due before Oct

The peril of gaining a certification to teach a core, graduation-required class on top of your specialty is that you're gonna get a whole lot of kids who need the core content but don't need anything that you're specialized for and friends this is my nightmare

our school has a "business and entrepreneurship" department that helps connect kids to opportunities so they can start thinking about employment after graduation etc etc etc
but it's often abbreviated to B&E
and every time I see it
I have to work VERY hard to remember it's NOT Breaking & Entering

my smart board got replaced last night!!!!!
discovered it was broken the day before open house, IT guy came by and confirmed it would need to be replaced but the county would have to do it
so I wheeled in a temp board (bc they uninstalled our projectors last semester) to start the year

had my first case of actual "saw the student pull something down from her chromebook screen and hide it in her hoodie pocket" case of cheating today, two students who are the only ones out of 3 classes so far to get higher than a 50
