This is a big thing I keep getting stuck on. The bill is being sold as a solution to the financial arms race that will protect nonrev sports.
But it ignores where athletic spending costs have actually skyrocketed...except to the players.
Not only is that unfair, it doesn't solve the problem!

The truth was that if United Health had an AI that was accepting a shitload of claims with a 90% error rate, United Health would stop using the AI in about 0.2 seconds.

Almost like for the whole of human history there's been an understanding that skipping the effort and work associated with mastery of a sport and just jumping to the end result invalidates the achievement entirely.

Not years; decades. Plural. To return to the baseline living standards and basic functionality of 2015 will take 30 years at least. To catch up to and match the rest of the world will take a century.
