New working paper: the Norwegian wealth tax was a huge success. The "exodus" of wealthy people never happened (less than 100 individuals left). Tax revenue increased by 71.5%. No changes in business activity or investment.

Once again, for the politicians, business leaders, and journalists still actively posting on X/Twitter: why?

You're using a platform that's owned by someone who's trying to break up your country. The juice isn't worth the squeeze.
There it is.

Elon Musk now advocating for Alberta separation.

That should perhaps be one of the biggest reasons to vote to stay.

Canada’s pipeline politicking is about to collide with economic reality
The ball for the west coast oil pipeline — sorry, the "Pacific Link" — is now fully in the oil and gas industry's court. One big question remains: are they actually willing to fill it?

China's net greenhouse gas emissions *fell* this past quarter.

Why? Because rapidly expanding electric vehicle use is putting a serious dent in oil demand.

We could do that too. But we're not. We have the slowest EV update in the developed world, thanks to Trump.
Analysis: China’s CO2 emissions fall in Q2 2026 due to plummeting oil use - Carbon Brief
China’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions fell by 1% in the second quarter of 2026, as oil consumption plummeted amid the strait of Hormuz crisis.
