The BAS Committee is a friendly and welcoming team dedicated to supporting the aphasia community.

- Editing and designing the newsletter currently using Canva
- Collating submissions for the next newsletter
- Monitoring the newsletter mailbox
- General committee duties; attending committee meetings, contributing to key decisions and supporting wider BAS activity

Through film, podcasts, and digital platforms, he aims to bridge the gap between clinical understanding and public awareness, supporting people with aphasia, their families, and healthcare professionals through impactful storytelling and education.

Jonathan Hirons is a filmmaker and producer behind On the Tip of My Tongue, a documentary and podcast raising awareness of aphasia. His work focuses on telling authentic, human stories that highlight the lived experience of communication disorders following stroke or brain injury.

His research interests include aphasia, fronto-temporal dementia, care-partner services, end-of-life communication, SLP/SLT curriculum and scope-of-practice issues, and optimum classification of acquired verbal concerns to facilitate appropriate counseling and management.

Adithya Chandregowda, Ph.D., is an associate professor at Nova Southeastern University, United States. He holds a certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.

Sarah’s special interest is working holistically to help individuals living with aphasia work towards their linguistic and life participation goals. Sarah is passionate about inclusion, and her work is influenced by the social model of disability.
