Really saddened to hear, he had a big impact on me personally. Being around the Dublin/Whelan’s music scene in my early 20s was a genuine privilege. Some artists just become part of the soundtrack to your life. Glen and the Frames definitely one of them. #RIP

A humbling day for Kildare, as expected. Plenty of positives around Kildare GAA and no questioning honesty or effort of this group, but since the Derry game nothing has clicked.

Brutal reality check for Kildare. After all the warnings about the protest beforehand, it would probably have been more enjoyable just getting stuck in a convoy of tractors. There is serious potential there but some serious work ahead for Flano and the lads.

Very annoying game for Kildare. Glass gets a lightning red and then Derry spend the rest of the half trying to drag someone into following him. Irritating enough… until ref obliged. No complaints about 14 v 14 after tho — second half was a proper exhibition of Derry running game and minding the ball

Another good result for Kildare, albeit Offaly (with exception of Keith O’Neill) seemed a long way off where they were last year. It’s hard to know where we are really. But with so many players to come back it’s hard not to feel a slight tinge of expectation that something good might be brewing! 🏳️🏳️🏳️

Incredible. It’s a game that will be remembered for Cork’s performance but Tipp didn’t need to be asked twice when the opportunity came their way. You don’t need to be the best team in the country every time you play, just better than the one you’re playing against. And Tipp have done that.

What is it about certain GAA journalists who spend all of their time rating matches rather than teams and tactics? “disappointing contest”, “underwhelming spectacle”, etc. You’d swear we’re all one hammering away from packing in the GAA. It’s elite sport, it’s ruthless, it’s supposed to be hard.

It’s amazing how cagey the games have been this weekend. I think we all assumed that once we got to Croker in the sunshine everyone would be moving the ball at 100mph and letting their forwards loose #gaa

Tyrone have really produced some standout underage teams in the last few years. There is surely a senior All-Ireland or two in their immediate future.
