We welcomed our new students into the department yesterday with a programme full of information and fun activities. Our Welcome Week programme will continue tomorrow with course team drop-ins.

On Monday, academics from our department attended the LHS ResCon. Research across the School of Life and Health Sciences were presented in the morning, which included three projects from our department, and we discussed research activity within our department in the afternoon.

1/2 Behind the Screens, an initiative led by Antonieta Fostier and Prof Laura Hammond to “Recognise, Respond and Prevent” online harassment and violence against girls and women, held an inaugural workshop on June 1, which brought a wide range of stakeholders to discuss the topic.

Our department had a strong presence at the recent EARPIL conference in Malta with two presentations. Dr Mona Wong and Dr Emily Coyne-Umfreville had a presentation on play and learning, whereas Natasha Ikhlaq presented her preliminary PhD research design.
