BBC defence of Nick Robinson is he is merely playing devil’s advocate. He is allowed to tell listeners falsehoods as long as listeners ‘would generally understand’ that he is just doing his job of holding to account. I think his job is to challenge with truth, but the BBC maintains not.

Farage wants an illiberal democracy where politicians in power can do whatever they want because the "will of the people" is behind them.
It's totally incompatible with liberal democracy where governments have checks on power, and the rule of law — which should apply to everyone equally.
