The answer is one word; capitalism! People don’t care what the conditions for future generations are going to be like. Companies don’t care, CEOs and other corporate officers are rewarded on a quarterly basis not on long terms objectives. Either we destroy capitalism, or it’s going to destroy us.

Don’t! In many areas it’s a primary nectar source for bumblebees, as well as being great for soil health as it fixes nitrogen. It’s more drought resistant than lawn grasses too, so won’t yellow as easily. At least leave a patch for wildlife.
