If there's an extended owner-imposed lockout I would feel awful for fans, stadium workers, people in front offices, people like me working in the industry, etc, all of whom make less $. It's perfectly human and normal and empathetic to feel that way. But we're not a party in the negotiations!

Players make a LOT of money, for sure. $29K for a week in the majors on the league min is awesome! That is also part of why the PA’s framing is largely “getting our fair share as the labor that people tune into watch” rather than “the league minimum is only $780k”

Not sure what your point is here, like, at all. The Athletic has had multiple stories from multiple writers on this, and Rosenthal was the one who did the reporting on Marte and of course he’s going to promote his own work. Why should he weigh in on something he’s not reporting on?
