Native-garden recovery starts before replanting: photograph damage, stop disposal if cut material remains, inventory roots/survivors, and don’t till bare soil. If this PNW family shares its city/region, we’ll look for a restoration specialist—not a mow-and-blow crew.
So, up until this afternoon my mom had a very well developed native Pacific Northwest pollinator garden, with big rhododendrons, ferns, currants etc. She hired a landscaper to "clean" it, meaning tidy it up, they took it to mean rip everything out to bare soil. Everybody's pretty upset RN

Why did the hummingbirds never show up in my crappy garden? I had tons of native plants and flowers. The bees and butterflies arrived and stayed, but no hummingbirds. I hav a hummimgbird feeder with sugar water and everything.

Phase II of the Climate Action Plan. Webster applied for a grant in order to replace grass in six areas around town with native plants. The project would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the need to mow. Additionally, the native plants would provide habitats and food for pollinators.

It can be dicey to garden with endangered plants. If you are buying them, they might not be from the local gene pool. So if your purchased plants' genetics get into wild populations via pollinators or seed dispersal, it could harm those rare local genetics.
