y'know, it kinda bothers me how official 02TB subs/dubtitles messed up the very unclear status on the "time-travel" thing.
which would not only go against Rui's wishes to not change his past, but also Taguchi's about not messing up the timeline and saying "this is the truth" stated in an interview.

Y'know, and thinking about it again... i'm not fond of people who treats Kizuna/02TB was made out of bad faith for things the OG staff did before and later.
i cannot stand the concept of loathing Kizuna and 02TB because of a bare minimum detail the staff decided to do differently.

honestly i do not enjoy reducing him to any and prefer to have them balanced instead, he's more than just Hikari's secret admirer and a ramen boy. but between those, ramen does not make people loathe him by just standing next to anyone else or misread his whole portrayal and relationship dynamics.

i know people claim flanderization on Daisuke's portrayal in 02TB, but honestly between THIS and having his entire characterization reduced into his crush on Hikari (which is also overexaggerated by both canon & fanon), i'd prefer ramen boy Daisuke instead.

i just realized that the 02TB website having Rui and Ukko's profiles separated instead of together like the rest of the cast and their mons here was another hint on how things were EXTREMELY BAD between them.

Also, it's kinda funny how peeps can fall into the trap of Rui's POV about Ukkomon (in the flashbacks) and miss the point of how Ukkomon's portrayal in those flashbacks are mostly a hint that Rui did not understood Ukkomon or even knew who Ukkomon truly was.

Gotta confess something here real quick: I don't think 02TB is lore violation, nor Kizuna. I don't really care what people says, i think they had a lot of loyalty to the canon, ESPECIALLY in portraying the characters and the conflicts they all had.

I can think of so many things that were implied and later became explicitly stated that ppl are claiming are retcons or changes from the original vision just bc they werent explicitly said earlier in the story and it's like 🤦♀️

I also hate the conflation of "headcanons" with "readings." If I am reading the text of BanG Dream It'sMyGo and thinking that Tomori and Sakiko's bond has romantic overtones, that's me paying attention to the text, not throwing out something like "Anon is a huge KPop Demon Hunters fan"

i feel like the fandom obsession with things being Canon™ has led to so many people having no idea how to handle something being Implied but not outright stated. which leads to picking up on clues intentionally left by the author being given the same weight as headcanons pulled out of thin air

also, and tbh, i really think despite you liking or not, Kizuna has been trying to modernize stuff, and fix things that "aged badly" so this is possibly why Miyako and Mimi have a huge change, and why "To Sora" has Sora claim she wanted to be herself.

i cannot stress enough that i do not like this fandom parroting the same condescending takes and not realizing that the "02 epilogue" was written with the old (and bad) views of the world in the 2000s.
