Also, just an additional thought: in moving away from toxic, addictive social media, we can't (and probably shouldn't want to) expect to keep up the same engagement numbers. Bsky is not made to be addictive, so number go down good actually maybe? those people could be touching grass for all we know

wonder how this does (or doesn't) factor in different appviews, tho. I've moved to eurosky/mu.social, many moving to their own servers and using different apps but still on the same lexicon. Would be more interesting monitor ATprotocol usage numbers alongside just Bluesky-specific engagement

“The inside of the fabric was stiched with thousands of tiny cameras. The shreds were being photographed again and again, from every angle and orientation, till finally the torn leaves dropped into a bin just in front of Robert.“

“The raging maw was a ‘Navicloud custom debinder.’ The fabric tunnel that stretched out behind it was a ‘camera tunnel...’ The shredded fragments of books and magazines flew down the tunnel like leaves in a tornado, twisting and tumbling.”

I have exactly (1) privacy lawyer friend and I am absolutely dying to get her opinion on all this. Thanks Laurens, stellar job.

And nice work on the edging.

these are all great points, but what if I'm a sicko who kinda enjoys all the uncontrolled, meandering discourse about logo design

I like it aesthetically, but it does feel spoken for by SEGA Dreamcast, vertigo, and perhaps Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Does feel like half the world has visited by how busy the city was. 😮‍💨 But it is pretty great, glad you enjoyed your visit! Next year is a good year to come for anyone considering, cause after that tourist tax is hiking towards a steep 20%!

In NL/NY lore, my mind was recently blown by learning about the etymology of ‘yankees’. highly recommended fun fact

Kinda depends on what part of it is relevant for them. For the ‘better social media’ part, I use their familiarity with how email and websites work: you have an URL/email address that’s yours, it doesn’t matter which browser/device/email client you use, there’s interoperability. Works pretty well!
