one thing you learn from making a lot of things is that the nitty gritty details, the millions of tiny invisible decisions, ARE the art. The "higher level ideas" are not nearly as important or interesting
"AI lets you focus on the higher level ideas!!"
because we all grew up dreaming of becoming managers and CEOs
we all know the real artists at the very highest level are the shareholders, famously full of amazing ideas

This thread has revealed that the biggest divide in our society is between the normal people who like sunlight in the evening and the sick freaks who want it to be dark at 5pm so they can get up to god knows what nefarious activities

Listen I know I don't have John Darnielle's voice but how was I supposed to resist the call of doing a The Mountain Goats Steamed Hams joke? I'm one of the millions of people who got Morel Orel'd into being obsessed with No Children back in the day.

Today we celebrate the PDFing of "Declaration FINAL v3 USE THIS ONE - SIGNED.docx"
(Jefferson's draft was heavily edited by the Committee, then again by Congress, and he was big mad about it.)

GREG DAVIES: seems like a kind of a shit task. Everyone just seems like they're going home normally.
ALEX HORNE: well before you say that let's have a look at how Odysseus did.
cut to panel of AJAX, MENELAUS, AGAMEMNON, and DIOMEDES who are all staring at ODYSSEUS with his head in his hands

me, editing: why does no one just write a sentence with a period at the end. stop it with the semi colons. simple clauses are elegant and easy to parse.
me, writing: writing is so easy--you just keep writing a sentence (and then never finish it; i wonder how long i can keep this going?).

Gender should literally just be a common thing that people *should* examine in order to have a fullness of life, even if nothing massively changes. It should be as common as developing a fashion style or a music taste. Deconstruction of societal imprint, no matter how “far” you go, is freedom.
