East coast ospreys are in decline. They are resilient and will survive. What happens to the many other *unseen* wildlife that depend on abundant menhaden is of greatest concern. We need more adaptive management of forage fish that accounts for localized depletion along the entire coast.

They aren't claiming the officer feared for his life, but "feared for public safety" when Guerrero attempted to flee. But he was not the target of the warrant. Which means they had no reason to think he was dangerous.

For these osprey nestlings, they did not survive to fledge. Just one of 20+ failed nests in a colony that I have monitored for over 15 yrs. It is located within NJ’s only marine conservation zone.
